“We have all heard the commercials claiming that the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the most awarded SUV in its class, but the real question is why?”
When it comes to style, the Grand Cherokee does a great job of providing a high class interior no matter the trim level. Compared to other vehicles in its class, the Laredo may not have all the features of the top trim level, but it is still a very well featured vehicle. One example is the standard U-Connect system is a 7 inch screen, and you can option all the way up to an impressive 8.4 inch screen which dominates the dash. The interior materials are also something that would feel at home in a exotic car, for example the leather, which comes in a variety of colors like Dark Ruby Red and Sepia.
Now, I may be biased in this claim, but I would go as far to say as the Grand Cherokee is the best looking vehicle in its class. With the aggressive headlights that blend into the sweeping grill, creating a mask that covers the true identity of the Grand Cherokee. It also amazes me at how the Grand Cherokee fits right in with high end cars on Rodeo Drive or on the back roads of New England.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is by far the most capable vehicle in its class, and that is for good reason. Jeep designed an Full-Time 4WD System called the Quadra-Trac System. Depending on the trim level, there will be slight variations to best fit the predicted use of the vehicle, but the main system is amazing at what it is designed to do. In short terms, in poor traction driving, the Grand Cherokee can figure out what wheels have more traction and will send the appropriate amount of power to the wheels in order to keep the vehicle moving. From a personal standpoint, I can say that in any condition, weather it be fairly deep mud, snow, or rocks, my Grand Cherokee has never left me stranded.
No matter what your intended use for the Grand Cherokee is, chances are Jeep has found the motor for you. Say you want a nice, stylish daily driver to haul the family around in, take a look at the Limited with the 3.6L V6. If you want to have some real power under the hood and have a mean SUV, take a peek at the 6.4L V8 under the hood of the SRT8. If that isn’t enough, and you want to be able to drop the kids off at school, get coffee, and your 30 mile commute in under 5 minutes, look at the 6.2L Supercharged V8 under the hood of the Trackhawk.
If power really isn’t the biggest factor, the Grand Cherokee comes in 11 trim levels including the Larado, Upland, Altitude, Limited, Limited X, Trailhawk, Overland, High Altitude, Summit, SRT, and Trackhawk.
