The Dodge Demon

Ok, let’s just look at the name… It’s called the Demon! When Dodge came out with the Demon, we all knew it was going to be insane, but not this crazy. Imagine the Dodge Challenger Hellcat on steroids, and you have the Demon.

Numbers… Big Ones

So let’s just talk numbers real quick, but be prepared because they are big numbers. From the factory, the Dodge Challenger Hellcat made 707 HP and 650 lb-ft of torque, which in itself is crazy. But Dodge decided to go to a level of insanity most manufacturers wouldn’t or couldn’t touch with the Demon! With a base tune, the Demon makes 808 HP and 717 lb-ft of torque. But here’s the kicker, you can change the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) from the factory to make up to 840 HP, making it the highest horsepower production car on the market!

The Question is Not Why, But How?

The question is, how did they do it? They shook the world when they came out with the Hellcat in 2014, but now they have made a car with even more power? According to Dodge, they took a Hellcat motor (6.2L Supercharged V8) and added a bunch of Go-Fast goodies on it. For example, a bigger supercharger, stronger engine components, and even a bigger hood scoop to push more air. My personal favorite is SRT Power Chiller™, which in short, pushes air through a A/C cooled intercooler, and makes more power. This is unlike most intercoolers as they simply use ambient air to cool down the system air before it enters the intake.

Demon Box

But wait, there’s more, for just $1 more, you can buy a gift box from Dodge. Well, I’ll admit I lied, It’s not really a gift box but more of a treasure chest of drag race goodies! Inside each well packaged Demon Crate, you get a plethora of Snap on tools (½ impact driver, floor jack, torque wrench, tire gauge, and tool bag), a Demon fender cover, and a foam trunk insert to hold all these goodies on the way to the strip. But, you also find some performance goodies, including a High-Octane PCM, Front Drag Wheels, Mirror block off plates, Performance air filter, and a replacement button to activate the PCM. And yes, I wasn’t kidding about this entire package being only $1!

WRAP UP

Basically, the Dodge Demon was designed and brought into this world by an insane team of engineers who drank too much Red Bull, but we LOVE IT! But if the Demon scares you, check out the Challenger Hellcat, or the Charger Hellcat if you need 4 doors! And I am not going to drop any hints on my favorite car, but if you need a full size SUV and still want a Hellcat, the Jeep Grand Cherokee TrackHawk is the way to go!
