The Chevy Silverado 1500 Receives a 3.0L Duramax Engine

The long-awaited 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel reveal for the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has finally come! We have been hearing word about a new diesel that would outfit the new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for quite some time now and there are finally some numbers to share. We all know a diesel engine is utilized for its low end power complemented by excellent fuel economy, so why not put it in a light-duty truck? A light-duty truck was never known to get exceptional fuel economy but with a diesel engine, you may be surprised with the outcome. It has been a couple of decades since the Silverado light-duty pickup has seen a diesel engine, and the first time an inline-six-cylinder can be found under the hood. The diesel option provides some interesting features like an exhaust brake during tow/haul mode to allow for more confident and maneuverable towing as well as driver-selectable stop/start technology to increase fuel economy.
