Quirk Chevrolet of Braintree Earns GM Green Dealer Certification
GM Certified Green Dealers are making the world a greener place and Quirk Chevrolet recently earned GM Green Dealer certification for its proven track record in energy reduction, use of renewable energy, water conservation efforts, recycling and community outreach.
Quirk Chevrolet has implemented a variety of green business practices, initiatives and upgrades, including the use of energy efficient lighting, high efficiency systems and Energy Star rated
equipment in order to achieve green certification.
GM’s Green Dealer program is designed to encourage dealerships to continue earth-friendly practices and support GM’s companywide effort to reduce its environmental footprint and “green” its supply chain. GM designed the program to not only encourage these voluntary sustainability efforts but also to help build a network where dealers can share ‘best practices’ regarding sustainability and cost-savings.
GM recognized 64 dealerships across the United States with green certification in January 2017. Quirk Chevrolet is one of only three dealers in Massachusetts to earn this certification in the recent announcement from GM.
All the recognized dealerships implemented energy reduction, renewable energy, water conservation, waste-to-landfill reduction and community outreach practices – efforts that deliver cost savings, improve the work environment and help differentiate GM dealers from the competition.
GM’s green dealer support team validates and evaluates the submissions against specific criteria. Continuous, yearly improvement will lead to ongoing, annual certification.
GM provides resources to help dealers earn Green Dealer certification:
- GM Green Dealer website that enables dealerships to share how they achieved environmental and operational gains.
- GM Dealer Equipment digital catalog highlighting products that save energy, conserve resources and reduce waste, such as high-efficiency paint booths and high-speed garage doors that also help drive operational efficiencies.
- Opportunities to connect with schools on environmental education activities.
