In the spirit of Halloween, we brainstormed some of our favorite car and trucks from horror movies. Now, I have to admit that the list was rather long, and we kept finding more and more cars to add, but if you have one we didn’t mention, make sure to comment below.
The movie we are going to pull from is Jeepers Creepers. The first vehicle to talk about is the 1941 Chevrolet COE Van, you know the one that just appears and dumps body shaped sacks into a ditch. Continuing from that movie is the 1960 Chevrolet Impala sedan with a sticky transmission driven by the two main characters.
The next movie is Christine directed by Stephen King. In this movie, the main character purchases a 1957 Plymouth Fury. Now this car had a bit of a dark past including a few weird accidents, some even before the car hit the road. But all of this continued, bringing the 57 Fury named Christine to common knowledge.
The Hills Have Eyes
Now, the next car on our list didn’t run for very long, but it still played a major roll. The 1990 Chevrolet Silverado from The Hills Have Eyes. This movie is actually filled with cool cars in the background such as an abandoned 1963 Buick Electra, 55 Ford Fairlane, even a few odd ball Volkswagens.
On to the next movie, which in my humble opinion is one of the worst movies that I love, Tremors. The basis behind the movie is there is a giant man eating worm underground in the middle of the desert. In order to get around, the main character Valentine Mckee, played by none other than Kevin Bacon, drives around in a sweet 1963 Jeep Gladiator.
The final on our list today is an adorable little 1978 Ford Pinto fro Cujo. In the Steven King Movie, Cujo, a troubled Ford Pinto leaves the main characters stranded in a driveway as an unfriendly saint bernard tries to kill them. Now I would say that a broken down Ford Pinto is a rare thing, but lets face it, It wasn’t the best car in the world, leaving it t be the perfect car for the scene.
With our list over, there are still plenty of awesome cars for the horror movie genre. So like I mentioned above, let us know if we missed your favorite horror movie ride. Also, if you ride is having any issues, make sure to stop by one of our service bays before you get stuck like Cujo!
